Little Cherry Smock only uses premium fabrics for its products. Common types are cotton, silk or linen – fabrics of natural origin and completely suitable for children. The article below will show you how to care for smocked clothing properly to ensure they are always clean and durable.
How to wash
- Wash smocked clothes as soon as possible to avoid leaving stains for a long time
- All of our products are machine washable.
- Use a gentle, 30-degree wash cycle.
- Encourage clothing to be turned inside out to limit fraying and fraying.
- For white clothes, avoid mixing with other colors. It is best to wash with similar tones.
- Use a detergent with a neutral PH level, with children’s clothing ranging from 5.5 to 7.
- Rinse thoroughly with cold water, avoid wringing or twisting.
- After washing, dry the product under sunlight. Do not bleach.
How to dry
- After washing, gently press the mesh garment to remove excess water. Avoid wringing or twisting the fabric as this can damage the smocking and stretch the fabric.
- Lay clothes flat. One tip is to spread them on a clean, dry towel and shape them to their original shape before hanging them on the shelf.
- Air dry in a shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can cause the colors to fade and the fabric to weaken over time.
- Do not use a tumble dryer for smocked clothing, as the heat can shrink the fabric and distort the smocking.
Ironing tips
- Do not iron the smocks panel. The pleats are hand-sewn with high technology so they will not deform during washing.
- Iron clothes in the order of collar -> sleeve -> lining -> body, from the inside out.
- Keep the table temperature between 110 – 150 degrees Celsius, if higher there is a risk of fabric shrinkage and deformation.
