Build the perfect Father’s Day outfit (June 20, 2027). Pre-order the Builders Collection now: orders placed by early March arrive in time for Father’s Day, Career Day and summer construction-themed birthdays.
Ask a three-year-old what they want to be when they grow up and there is a good chance the answer involves a hard hat. Diggers, dump trucks and cranes are pure magic at that age, and the parents who shop your boutique already know it: they stop the stroller at every building site. That is the spark behind the Cherrysmock Builders Collection, the first chapter of our new Occupations series of heirloom smocked clothing.
Builders is 30 coordinated wholesale designs, 22 for girls and 8 for boys, made in our partner workshops in Hanoi, Vietnam. Around two thirds are hand smocked, with the rest in cheerful print and machine embroidery so you can stock the story at more than one price point.
Workwear details, heirloom heart
We did not want a few trucks stitched onto an ordinary dress. Every piece borrows something real from the job site, then softens it the Cherrysmock way:
- Hickory stripe and chambray: the original railroad and construction fabrics, cut into pinafores, bubbles and longalls.
- Carpenter pockets, hammer loops and brass rivets that kids can actually use.
- Safety-vest stripes in silver and lemon yellow, turned into hems, suspenders and jumper details.
- Removable felt tool belts and a carpenter apron that make every outfit a costume and a photo moment.
- Picture smocking of excavators, cement mixers, cranes, hard hats and even a crew of bricklaying teddy bears.
A palette straight from the building site
Safety orange, hard-hat yellow and cobalt blue lead the collection, balanced with crisp white and our own cherry red. It is bright, clean and very happy, and it photographs beautifully next to your spring and back-to-school stock.
What is in the collection
- Girls (22): flutter and puff-sleeve yoke dresses, bishop dresses, pinafore and overall dresses, bubbles, a feminine ruffle longall, a coverall romper, a peasant-top set and twirl dresses in print.
- Boys (8): a hickory stripe longall, Jon-Jons, bubbles, a chambray shortall, a smocked shirt and suspender-shorts set and a mini worker coverall.
- Techniques: hand smocking (19 styles), print (6 styles) and machine embroidery or appliqué (5 styles).
Why it sells beyond a single season
Unlike holiday capsules, an occupation theme is not tied to one date on the calendar. Builder outfits work for birthday parties, construction-themed cake smashes, first-day-of-school photos, “career day” at preschool and simple everyday play. That makes Builders a steady, year-round story for your window and your Instagram grid.
